Although physicians recommend that students carry a maximum of 15% of their body weight on their shoulders and backs, studies show younger students are hauling as much as 40%. For a 100-pound student, that’s a 40-pound load instead of the preferred 15-pound limit.
Gravity isn’t kind when you are carrying more than you should.
